Windows Vista tweak & Gadget

Boring with the normal view in Windows Vista ? For the previous version of Windows like XP or Windows 2000, we can use tool like TweakUI but Vista we will do this way.

Proxy to block porn site - PAC File

PAC, have you heard about this term before ? For IT professional, I believed they will know this but for everage user, I don't think they will know this technology. PAC file is stand for Proxy Auto Configuration and it is a javascript file that contains the route to the Internet.

What is the purpose of this file ? Is personal computer at home contain this file ? This file was very useful when we want to block some web site that contains the nudity or porno material from viewed by our children. Of course any other website that not suit to our beliefe or contains harmful material to our children or society can be blocked using this technology. That why sometime when we browse some website in our office, we unable to view it, guess what ? it because of this file.

Our personal computer will not have this kind of file, we have to create it by our self. Normally, we will have access directly to the internet without any filter to the content.
Below are the screen shot that shows our internet connection without using the PAC file.

This can be achieved by go Tools menu in Internet Explorer browser, then click Internet Options, choose Connections tab and click on LAN settings. Then you can see "Automatically detect settings" checkbox checked by default.

Windows Registry

Windows registry is one of the windows component that is very important in order to do customization to our operating system. For example we can disable right click to our folder or file by just apply certain value to the registry key. The other thing, we also can fix certain application that cannot run or crash by apply the correct value to it.

My Ferrari Model Collection

I have a hobby to collect all the Ferrari model. I got these cars when refill the petrol at Shell petrol station. You have to refill at least RM 30.00 for regular or v-power. For regular fuel, you can get the model for RM 8.90 each while for v-power racing, the price is RM 3.90 each.

You also can get this model at 7-eleven. But surprise..the price was RM 30 ++ something. Quite expensive aa :-)
